Happy Pink Purse Birthday (PPA14)

This week, over at Pals Paper Arts (PPA14) it's all about pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month.  I discovered this card on SplitCoastStampers a little while ago and just fell in love with the idea of using punches to create purses. It's also a "punches" challenge over at Daring Cardmakers, what could be more perfect?

Finally Mojo Monday (on Wednesday again!) MOJO110

Time for another MOJO Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO110).  I really wanted to make a wreath using punches for a 3D effect.  Luckily the sketch was a square giving me a little more room with a 5x5 card base!

I started by sponging a piece of Old Olive card stock with Old Olive Ink, then I punched out about 2 dozen plus small oval punches out of the paper and folded them in half on a diagonal (a little bit of Tombow glue to hold them down).

Then, I made a 2.5" circle and cut out a 2.25" cirlce from the center to make a ring and glued the leaves on the front and the back of the circle, sponged the edges, and added a couple of half 'leaves' that were 'un-sponged'.  Dressed it up with a few Riding Hood Red Trio Flowers, ribbon, and a Sizzix bird.

Then, I dressed up the inside of the card.

Asian Artistry in Watercolor

I love this set.  Especially against a watercolor wash background.

It's like a mini painting.

How to:

• To make the base, cut a piece of card stock 4 1/4" x 9 3/4".
• Score at 5 1/2" and fold to create the holder.  Use just a narrow bead of glue to hold the edges together (or eyelets or brads would work too).
  
• Note card 5 1/4" x 3 3/4"
• Decorate to your heart's content

• Fits a regular A2 envelope

I Cherish Your Friendship

 

Watercolor, stamps and ribbon.  To me that is such a creative and romantic combination.

Stamping with Shirley the other day, I used a piece of her 8.5" x 11" watercolor paper, washed it with an aqua painter and water then washed it with Baja Breeze and a little Old Olive (that really lightened up). And then played with a couple of her Anna Griffin stamps in Not Quite Navy.

When I looked at the images today, I decided to add a little more color to the tulips using my Pink Pirouette re-inker and Aqua Pen. Then, with an almost dry brush, I added some old olive.

Next step was to add some Antique Linen distress ink (whisc smeared the tulips just  a smidge so be careful).

Then, the inside of the card.

There is something about this tulip, stamped on Very Vanilla, punched out with the large oval punch, edged with Pink Pirouette ink and Antique Linen distress ink that make my heart sing.  I love it.

I originally saw this card over at Megan's site and wanted to make something similar, but then I saw the tulips and went for it.  What do you think?

And made several for my shop.

With All Your Heart (WSC103)

I love the Weekend Sketch Challenges (WSC103).  The cards always so creative and it really encourages me to put more into each card.  On a day like today (cold, wet & windy), I can really spend some time on the images and try out some new ideas.

The Weekend Sketch Challenge used squares this week and since I had just spent an afternoon stamping on watercolor paper, I felt this peony from the Asian Artistry (Hostess Level 2) set would be a great focal point.

For the inside, I used Very Vanilla lightly sponged with Pink Pirouette and then a coordinating flower/leaf from the Sizzix die cut Bird with Leaves and Flowers.

Two Pocket Gift Card Holders Galore

I've been meaning to post these gift cards and finally got the pictures uploaded and put together.  These cards use one piece of double sided paper plus a little bit of embellishment and are the perfect size for gift cards.

They are surprisingly easy and really fun to make.  I found the idea for this two pocket card on SplitCoastStampers and just followed the instructions on this video.

One pocket for the note and one pocket for the gift card.  How fun is that?

I made matching envelopes (using the Cricut Plantin Schoolbook) and added the Designer Paper to the inside of the envelope.

I just finished this place card yesterday and today for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge it's Anything But a Card. So, without further ado...

Aren't these place cards cute? And they are quite simple.  If you have the tools, they are easy to make. 

If you don't have the tools, I'm offering a November Kit with the pre-cut paper pieces.  All you have to do is pen the names and add the brads (helps to have a 1/16" punch) and an embossing stylus for the pumpkin (optional). 

I will emboss the Soft Suede cardstock and punch the pumpkin pieces, cut the leaves, and the name plates for you in this kit.

Each kit includes:

• 12 pre-cut embossed pieces of Soft Suede card stock
• 12 pre-cut pumpkins ready for assembly
• 12 pre-cut leaves
• 12 pre-cut name plates
• card stock for the stems & vines

Mojo Monday (on Wednesday)

I have so many Christmas cards to share with you.  I'll start with this one since I just finished it for Mojo Monday (Mojo109).

 
This week's sketch had so many possibilities but I decided to go for the clean and simple look.

I could hardly wait to use the new set "Patterned Pines" a hostess Level 1 set that I received a few days ago.

I stamped the image and cut it out, layered it on embossed paper (which you can't see in the photos - little raised dots).  I also extended the trunk by stamping the image again and cutting a length to fit.  And tied a little bow in red ribbon.

The sentiment is from "All Holidays" and the ribbon is from my "stash".
