My favorite thing about summer is taking in all the flowers, mine and everyone elses. First come the once-a-season bloomers - crocus, tulips and dafodils. Next are the once-a-summer beauties - lilacs, peonies, and iris. Next are the durable lilies, marigolds, geraniums, roses, and daises. As we head into September, I always like to see the asters growing out of the pavement and cement. Beauty will not be denied.
