A Little Inspiration

June Calendar (Finally)

I was hoping to start off my June calendar with some new stamps & accessories, but I couldn't wait any longer...instead, I used some retiring Raspberry Tart DSP and a few scraps of Pink Pirouette.

The inspiration for this came from this week's MOJO Monday Sketch Challenge which I hope to post soon.

• Butterflies are in Rose Red & Pink Pirouette (Beautiful Wings Embosslits which is still available)
• Flower is in Pink Pirouette with 2 layers of the 5 Petal Flower and a 3/4" circle of the DSP, a button (from my 'stash') and a bit of embroidery floss (also from my 'stash').  I curled the edges just a little bit with my bone folder, but it should lay flat in my scrapbook.

The UPS man is scheduled to deliver my new goodies today which means sneak peeks are soon to come!

May Calendar (PPA41)

This week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge is a photo challenge based on this picture.

I loved the flowers and used them as the focal point (with a slight change to the pattern since I really wanted to use the new Bigz Island Floral die from the Summer Mini Catalog.

April Calendar (PPA35)

It's close enough to April to unveil next month's calendar as part of the Pals Paper Arts Challenge (PPA35) - Anything But A Card.

Because it will be part of my album (on which I have yet to make progress) I kept it relatively 'flat' but looking at the picture, I think a little more pizazz would have been good...ah well May is soon to be in the works.

I am so thrilled that spring is on our doorstep (literally).  I snapped this picture a couple of days ago.  The first true sign of spring in our yard.

I have already started some seeds indoors and they are looking pretty good.  Soon the peas will be shooting up (unless they froze in the recent snow...in which case I'll be replanting LOL!) and the grass is showing signs of green from all of the moisture.

I also have some non-card projects to show you - pictures soon to come!

March Calendar

I have been meaning to blog this month's calendar, but between the office chaos and the gorgeous weather it has been so much easier to go outside and play in the yard or find other chores to do. 

My office is almost clean (pictures soon to come) and slowly I am moving back into creating and sharing.

Here's the March calendar with the poem I love.  

I should have taken the time to type it up (or practiced my handwriting but things just aren't quite 'normal' around here).

February Calendar

So far, so good on my goal to scrapbook.  I've made two calendar pages and one scrapbook page. Now that I'm home from MN, I have some fun photos to scrapbook too. 

This page features the I {Heart} Heart stamp set from the Mini Occasions Catalog as well as the Heart to Heart Punch and the new small heart punch.  (I love the new punch design.)

I also used the new scallop trim border and corner punches (the border punch is free with a $50 purchase!).  Stampin' Up! has put together a great video showing the features of the new punches and how to use the corner punch properly.

I used the computer to create my calendar page, cut it out and then used Rose Red for the background on Pretty in Pink paper.

The hearts are a combination of stamps on Pretty in Pink, Whisper White and Rose Red.  I used the Heart to Heart Punch as well as the small heart punch and two other heart punches I had.

January Calendar (PPA26)

In my last post, I mentioned that I want to learn new skills and try some new techniques this year.  Well, I decided scrapbooking would be a great place to start.  So, inspired by Sharon Harnist, I have put together a calendar for January (I know it's almost over, I got a late start) and will then create a couple of pages for each month. 

The idea of a great big 12x12 sheet of paper seemed to be a little overwhelming so this calender is 6x6 (and fits perfectly in the SU Album $16.95)

The calender will sit next to my desk so I can write a note or two in the squares too.

The timing for this projects is perfect as this week over at Pals Paper Arts, it's "Anything BUT a Card" (PPA26).  So check out the awesome work by those gals too.

BTW:  Funny thing.  I've been cleaning my office out and have made tremendous progress.  My office is CLEAN (was).  And, suddenly I was afraid to pull out my 'toys' because I didn't want to make a mess.  Of course that didn't stop me for too long and the crazy thing?  It was so easy to create my project and then clean up because there is no clutter to work through and I have places to put things! It's too wonderful!
