A Little Inspiration

Happy Easter Collage (SSSC110)

Today, I was feeling saturated from the mass production process of creating items for an upcoming craft fair.  So, my husband and I took a nice long walk through the foothills of our nearby state park.  Feeling relaxed and clear headed, I decided to play around in my craft room and take a break from the assembly line.

• I started with this sketch challenge from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC110).

• Then, I took out Bliss (from Sale-a-bration!) Strength & Hope (preview of the Summer Mini Catalog ) & Nature Walk (Occasions Mini Catalog) stamps, some Stampin' Write markers, and my latest new tool - the Spritzer!

• I also decided to use up some bits and pieces that were lying around - Strength & Hope DSP (My Digital Studio download Sneak Peek), an office tag, and Botanical Gazette DSP.

The square image is a piece of Botanical Gazette that I stamped and spritzed and layered on Not Quite Navy.  The Tag is an office tag that I have from a trip to the flea market.  I stamped that with various images.  (I colored the stamps with markers).  I edged the tag with Botanical Gazette DSP punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.  Finally, I added the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and a strip of Basic Pearls. I also spritzed the tag with various markers too.

The ribbon is retired (unfortunately).  A little bit of Kraft 3/8" taffeta ribbon.  As tempted as I was to add a big flower or crazy ribbon, I decided to let the stamps and ink speak for themselves.

Four Frames Sneak Peak & SSSC108

Have you noticed a complete lack of St. Patrick's Day cards on my blog?  It's such a fun holiday but I just don't have anyone to send a St. Patty's Day card too.  Hopefully this will work as my green contribution :-) 

• I started with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC108) for this card. 

• I cut a case at 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" (to fit the 5-1/2" square envelope).

• Then layered some new Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper on top.

• Next, I cut a Scallop Circle with the Big Shot and the layering circle with the 3-1/2" die.

• Then, I added a little Chocolate Chip 3/8" taffeta ribbon (retired) and a coordinating punched butterfly.

A couple of flowers from the Itty Bitty punch set and of course some Basic Pearls finish it off.

Becase of the dark base, I decided to decorated the inside a little bit too.

Introducing Artistic Etchings - SSSC73

I just love this new stamp set , Artistic Etchings (available in the new catalog beginning July 1st).  There's something so romantic about the image, especially with the new Greenhouse Gala DSP.

I started with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC73) and my favorite color - Baja Breeze.

Notice another new goodie? 

• NEW 2 3/8" scallop circle punch - it coordinates with the current scallop circle punch and fits wit the stamp beautifully.  (I punched out the little circles around the edge.)

• I also love the NEW Early Espresso Ink.  It's a gorgeous shade of dark brown and looks great on NEW Crumb Cake card stock (formerly known as Kraft).

• The clear stamps make it so easy to add patterns to paper like I did along the left edge.

A couple of stamps inside too for the final touch the NEW Crumb Cake ink is perfect for creating a watermark style background image on the Crumb Cake Paper (aka Kraft).
